CHARACTER EDUCATION IN ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVE


Character education in Islamic educational institutions, probably better than the implementation of character education at another institution, only if it is in line with the views of the public, because they are a group of people who feel about how character education is applied in Islamic educational institutions. Character education in Islam as well as "moral". So that character education in Islamic pespektif more focused on learners attitudes, that it is on the positive will of the habit, so that he is able to cause acts with ease, without prior consideration of thinking in everyday life.

These differences include an emphasis on the principles of eternal religion, the rule of law and the strengthening of morality, different understandings of truth, rejection of moral autonomy as the moral purpose of education, and the emphasis on the afterlife as a motivational reward immoral behavior. Morals in Islam is very mulya and noble for people unable to do so. In the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad, which means that: "Verily, I am sent to enhance human morality." (Fatihuddin and Abul Yasin: 133). From the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad. mentioned above, it is clear that the position of morality in Islam is very important in life on this earth. Islam encourages us to imitate the behavior of the noble Prophet Muhammad., Because within him is a good role model. (Surat al-Qalam: 4., QS. Al-Ahzab: 21)
Virtue is a pattern someone or deciding that the person is good or bad, so with this character is always used as a determinant of the most cutting edge in every issue.Included in the Indonesian nation building, especially in the development of young children. Implementation of character education in Islamic educational institutions is necessary, given the current Indonesian nation especially those occurring in young people, which happens decadence, as do the fighting between students, drinking alcohol, and even do hebungan sex outside marriage. With the application of this character education, is expected to help towards the development of the character of young people, especially those who are still attending school.
Necessary efforts functionalization Islamic Education role optimally through revamping curriculum and quality learning model for character formation of students. Character formation of students with demonstrated strong character, resilient, independent, creative and responsible, and not only skilled but skilled work life, not just work but also smart intelligent life. Learners need in terms of physical strength, intellect, and science, but they also need character education, feelings, wishes, tastes, and personality.
